DIY Pine Control
Motivated landowners can undertake their own small-scale wilding pine control, provided they take the necessary safety precautions and do not poison trees near sensitive areas, such as power-lines, baches and walking tracks.
The Trust has produced a short video demonstrating how to control wilding Pinus radiata, which is the most common wilding conifer in the Sounds.
UPDATE: The Trust has recently revised its recommended herbicide injection method. An up-dated written guideline on the safe and efficient control of Pinus radiata is available for download [300KB PDF]
