The Marlborough Sounds Restoration Trust (MSRT) is a charitable organisation, created in 2007 by a group of concerned residents and holiday home owners in Picton and the Queen Charlotte Sound (QCS). The aim of the organisation is to:

“facilitate the restoration of native ecosystems in the Marlborough Sounds, and protect the area’s landscape values”.

The Trust is a community initiative focused on looking after the things we all value about the Sounds. It undertakes a range of positive and practical projects that will benefit residents, users and tourists.

The Trust's Patron

The Marlborough Sounds Restoration Trust is greatly saddened at the passing of our Patron, Sir Paul Reeves. Although best known for his role as a statesman and religious leader, Sir Paul had an enormous passion for the Marlborough Sounds, where he spent much time in his childhood, and for its people and environment. He was a gracious and generous supporter of the Trust and offered his services willingly.

Our thoughts go to his wife Beverley, Lady Reeves, his three daughters, and grandchildren.
